This is an example page, it is different from a post because it will stay in one place and will appear in the navigation of your site (in most themes). Many people start with an "About Me" page, which introduces them to potential visitors to your site. You could say something like this:
Hi! I'm a bike messenger by day, an aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, I have a big dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And getting caught in the rain.)
...or something like this:
XYZ Trasto was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality junk to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2000 people and does all kinds of amazing things for the Gotham community.
